About this place
Men Nakai’s Concentrated Soy Ramen is a little different from a bowl designed for sipping plenty of broth. Here, the small amount of broth is packed with savoury flavour, and the focus is on the specially made noodles. Diners who have tried it have remarked on the combination of chewy noodles and a broth with a pronounced soy flavour. With less broth than usual, it is a good choice when you want the soy to stand out.
If you are unsure about the amount of broth, the Soy Ramen, also priced at 950 yen, is another option. The menu describes it as having more broth, offering a different eating experience from the concentrated version. For a more generously topped bowl, try the Special Concentrated Soy Ramen (1,150 yen), which comes with 1 slices of chashu pork, 1 seasoned egg and 1 sheets of nori. Minced-meat rice (150 yen) and plain rice (100 yen) are available too. The menu also suggests adding plain rice to the remaining concentrated broth and sprinkling it with yuzu and seven-spice seasoning. Whether you make the noodles the focus or finish with rice, there is more than one way to enjoy the bowl.
Dine-in is available, and counter seating makes the restaurant an option for a solo ramen meal. Payment is cash only, and reservations are not accepted.
